Plus haut magazine joins the mondofragilis group

Imagine a new form of luxury, money and power; where what you have actually makes a difference — not only to you but also to those around you. Imagine a way of life that includes the fruits of one's labour but also respects and helps people, society and the planet. Welcome to a publication where two seemingly incompatible mindsets meet. Welcome to the metamorphosis of 'plus haut', a successful luxury publication which is about to change its message and its ambition. Welcome to 'plus haut', a publication for and about people, institutions and organisations that have the power to cause change.

For many, luxury, wealth and power mean waste, excess or exploitation. And they can mean just that.

Yet money and power can be a force for good. Around the world, influential people, institutions and companies are doing endless good. President Bill Clinton has thrown the full weight of his renown behind the fight against AIDS. Warren Buffett has donated the vast majority of his wealth — over thirty billion dollars — to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. For the next few years, all profits from Virgin Airways will be used to combat global warming. Celebrity ambassadors are doing their part to draw attention to major issues. Media produce telethons to raise funds.

These are the headliners who make the news. Beyond them lie an even larger world of citizens, corporations and foundations with noble causes ranging from children's programmes to scientific research and rural women’s empowerment.

plus haut will also deal with some of the major projects that are trying to change the world. The Grameen bank that has just won the nobel prize, laboratories all over the world seeking cures to Cancer, AIDS or Parkinson's.

The new plus haut will highlight the special projects that are trying to change the world and show you how to take part – or create your own; projects like the Grameen Bank, winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, laboratories seeking cures for cancer, or venture capitalists investing in alternative energy.

plus haut will try to reward those who deserve it. It will uncover real life stories that inspire us and give us an option to do the right thing.

More than anything, it will show us how to enjoy the benefits of our work and rewards without harming the world around us.

This is the magazine for reasonable wealth at the service of humanity.
