mondofragilis group puts V3.0 website online
A neat new feature of our V3.0 website is this Flash based tag cloud. The words you see on the tag cloud represent article tags throughout the site. When you click on one of them, you are shown a list of articles and content objects that have that tag. Great job Romain and Thibaut for this one!
Our first website went online in 1992, a full seventeen years ago. It seems so far away and yet to think that the web is only about that old, give or take a year, is amazing.
And yet, in two decades, the web has evolved beyond belief. It has gone from a simple hypertext linking paradigm, imagined by Tim Berners-Lee and his team at the CERN in March 1989, to a driving social, economic and policy instrument. The web is, as we all know, a place to learn, challenge, rant, play, even attack and slander.
What is the web to us, to our group. For us it's more than just a place to tell our clients who we are. It's more than just a store window. It is that, but also a place to express ourselves through our blogs and forums. It is a place to share our knowledge openly through our knowledgewiki. It is also a place to show what we have done, and what we can do for our clients. There is some humor, much passion and even a little bit of sorrow when we mourn the loss of friends and family.
In this, our latest attempt to connect with the world via the Internet, we have chosen a rather 'content management' visual approach. Rather than throw fancy movies with the shortest imaginable message that simply shows you how clever we think we are, we have provided you with a multiple box means of exploring our entire site. We want you to discover our cancer films but also have access to our mondolibrary or our soon-to-be mondoboutique. We want you to discover our staff and our projects. Yes, we know, it's a rather large site; so we have been told, especially for a communications firm. Some would rather have us be short and to the point telling everyone who we are, what we do and how much it costs. But we beg to differ. We have a genuine interest in what we do and that includes interacting with our clients, our stakeholders and the public interest community at large. That, we feel, requires a substantial site, hence this one.
If you have comments or suggestions, please do make them. We really do believe in the need to improve our site continually, regardless of major upgrades.
As always, our site continues to use eZ Systems' superior CMS. This opensource/enterprise application, based in Norway, is exceptional, powerful and backed by a dedicated team of specialists.
