Baby Hayden is born
Hayden, Soleil and Antonio's child, in his early days at the hospital.
Soleil appeared in our documentary series Cancer is... and told us, and the world, about her fight with childhood cancer. Well, despite heavy doses of radiotherapy and a dim prognosis, she has just given birth to a wonderful boy named Hayden.
Indeed, Soleil Labelle and her husband Antonio Scrima, have done what they were told would be near-impossible. And yet, a beautiful 4.2 kg baby was born this week in Geneva.
Soleil, you will recall, told the world about her fight with cancer while in her native Prince Edward Island in Canada's Atlantic provinces. She told us of her personal fight and with her frustration at the then limited oncological resources.
The entire mondofragilis group family is pleased and proud to bring you the earliest photos of baby Hayden who for his first few days is still in an incubator. We wish Soleil, Antonio and Hayden many many happy years ahead!
