The Campaigner is a new publication for nonprofit campaigners who spend countless days managing, conceiving, designing, producing and disseminating campaign materials to support their advocacy, fundraising and public awareness agendas. This publication will help them in their challenging work.

Overview of The Campaigner

The Campaigner is a publication designed to help public interest campaigners improve the effectiveness of their campaigns and communications by providing best practices and cutting edge guidance. This concise bi-annual review targets fundraisers, advocates and communicators in the United Nations family, civil society and the public sector. The first two 96-page issues are scheduled for November 2006 and May 2007. They will be distributed, free of charge, to 10,000 campaign-related individuals. The Campaigner is coproduced by Mondofragilis network and naturaprint as a public service to its readership.

Campaigners in the United Nations system and nongovernmental organisations are among today's heros. Their work changes the lives of millions of people worldwide. They combat AIDS, fight poverty and labour to protect forests in the farthest lands. Without their fundraising their organizations would not have funds. Without their creativity and understanding of the issues, key messages would never reach those who need them most. One need only look at the work of anti-tobacco campaigners, renewable energy proponents or advocates for human rights. Every one of their messages aim to improve people's lives. But to be effective, they must constantly search for excellence, and do so with very limited resources. Campaigners work in three major fields: fundraising, advocacy and public awareness. The goal of 'the mondofragilis analyst' is to help them improve their campaigning skills by analysing other campaigns that have made a difference. These analyses help them avoid mistakes, reduce costs and improve effectiveness.
