naturaprint goes 'direct to plates'
Using forklifts to install our direct to plates unit on the upper floor of our facility.
Today, our naturaprint facility in the French Alps received our much awaited direct to plate solution. The transition away from film will begin next week and last three to four weeks. During this period, we will output to plates but keep the film operation going to ensure redundancy in case of issues.
The direct to plates process is not new. We admittedly took some time to make the complete switch. But now that we have we are very much looking forward to it. Operationally, the result will be both a savings in money - that we will pass on to our clients - and a dramatic savings in time.
Ethically, the direct to plate solution will do away with waste associated with films and chemicals. Fumes emanating from the development process will also be eliminated.
